A new kitchen installation replaces your old units, worktops and appliances with a new layout fitted to your room, including the plumbing, electrics, tiling and finishing needed to leave a complete, working kitchen.
Homeowners in Rochdale usually consider a new kitchen for one of a few reasons: something has worn out, the house no longer suits the way they live, or they are getting it ready to sell. We visit, agree a specification and put a fixed price in writing. Most jobs like this take 1–3 weeks on site, and we work across Greater Manchester, including Heywood, Royton and Middleton.

What are homes like around Rochdale?
Rows of Victorian red-brick terraces fill much of Manchester, Salford and the mill towns, with stone terraces in the Pennine fringes around Oldham and Saddleworth. South Manchester has Edwardian semis and villas, Wythenshawe was built as a large interwar garden suburb, and city-centre apartments and new estates continue to grow.
Two-up two-down terraces commonly suit loft conversions, kitchen extensions and kitchen refits. Many need repointing and roof work, while semis in the suburbs often take side extensions, driveways and replacement windows.
These patterns matter for a new kitchen: older walls, roofs and floors in Rochdale can need different materials or extra preparation compared with newer homes.
Permissions for a new kitchen in Rochdale
As Rochdale is in England, read the following with that system of planning and building control in mind. We check what applies to your house with the council before you receive a quote.
Internal work such as a new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, plastering or decorating does not need planning permission in England, unless the house is listed, when listed building consent may be needed even for internal changes.
Some internal work is covered by Building Regulations: new electrical circuits and work in bathrooms (Part P), new drainage, structural changes, extractor ventilation and any new window. Notifiable work is certified by a registered installer or by building control.
Rules change and every property is different, so we check the planning history and constraints for your address before we quote.
From survey to handover
A visit to your home
Book a visit and we'll come to you. The survey covers measurements, the state of what's there now and any obvious constraints, so the price that follows is based on your actual home, not an average.
Quote in writing
We put everything into a written, fixed-price quote: the specification, what's excluded, staged payments and the expected time on site. Take whatever time you need to decide; there's no pressure to commit.
Booking the work
Preparation matters as much as the build. We agree access, parking and working hours with you, order materials in good time, and confirm any permissions so the job isn't held up once it starts.
On site to finish
Work goes ahead as scheduled and you deal with one contact throughout. When the last trade leaves, we clear and clean the site, talk you through what has been done and pass on any certificates and care instructions.
Why homeowners choose us
Common questions
Which worktop material should I choose?
Laminate worktops are the most affordable and come in many stone and wood effects, though they can be damaged by hot pans. Solid wood is warm and repairable but needs regular oiling. Quartz is very hard-wearing, stain-resistant and needs little maintenance, but it costs more and is made to template after the units are fitted. We bring samples and explain the care each one needs.
How long does it take to fit a kitchen?
Fitting a kitchen typically takes one to three weeks on site, depending on its size and how much the layout changes. Strip-out, first-fix plumbing and electrics, and any plastering come first, then units, worktops, appliances and tiling. Stone worktops are templated once the base units are in and usually fitted a week or two later. We give you a day-by-day plan before we start.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
You are usually without a working kitchen for one to two weeks, from strip-out until the sink and hob are reconnected. If stone worktops are being made to template, we can fit a temporary worktop so you can use the sink while you wait. Many people set up a microwave, kettle and fridge in another room. We plan the order of work to keep this period as short as possible.
Can you combine a new kitchen with other work?
Yes. Because we manage several trades under one contract, we can plan a new kitchen alongside other work on your Rochdale home, such as new windows with rendering, or a kitchen refit with an extension. Combining jobs can reduce repeat set-up such as scaffolding, skips and access, and every element is listed and priced in the same written quote.
Can I stay at home during the work?
In most cases, yes. Most people can live at home throughout, and we plan the work to keep disruption down by protecting floors, agreeing working hours and keeping access routes clear. Bigger jobs affecting kitchens, bathrooms or heating may mean a short spell with reduced facilities, and we talk this through with you at the survey.
