A new kitchen installation replaces your old units, worktops and appliances with a new layout fitted to your room, including the plumbing, electrics, tiling and finishing needed to leave a complete, working kitchen.
Hampshire is part of our UK-wide coverage for a new kitchen. Places we cover include Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke and Gosport, and we travel to smaller communities across the area as well. Since your property is in England, the relevant planning and building rules are the ones set there. In the South East, budget around £9,000–£24,500 with VAT; the figure is confirmed after a survey that costs you nothing.

Homes in Hampshire
Southampton and Portsmouth have dense Victorian terraces, with plenty of post-war rebuilding after wartime bombing. Winchester keeps Georgian and medieval streets, Basingstoke expanded rapidly with 1960s and 1970s estates, and New Forest villages feature cob, thatch and brick. Brick and flint is common on the chalk downs, and new estates ring most towns.
Terraces suit loft rooms and side-return extensions; post-war and expanded-town homes often need window, roofline and cladding renewal. Cottages in the Forest may call for lime repairs and planning-sensitive windows.
Coastal areas along the Solent face salt and wind, while chalk downland is better drained but exposed; inland clay can move in dry summers.
Do you need permission in Hampshire?
Homes in Hampshire come under the regulations for England, summarised below. We don't rely on general rules alone: we confirm the position for your address with the council before a quote goes out.
Internal work such as a new kitchen, bathroom, flooring, plastering or decorating does not need planning permission in England, unless the house is listed, when listed building consent may be needed even for internal changes.
Some internal work is covered by Building Regulations: new electrical circuits and work in bathrooms (Part P), new drainage, structural changes, extractor ventilation and any new window. Notifiable work is certified by a registered installer or by building control.
Rules change and every property is different, so we check the planning history and constraints for your address before we quote.
How does the job run?
Free site survey
We arrange a free site survey on a date convenient to you. We measure up, look at the existing structure and access, and discuss your plans for a new kitchen so the price reflects your home.
Price and scope agreed
Next you receive a written quote with a fixed price for the agreed specification. It lists what is included, what is not, and how payments are staged, so you can compare it properly.
Getting ready
Preparation matters as much as the build. We agree access, parking and working hours with you, order materials in good time, and confirm any permissions so the job isn't held up once it starts.
The work itself
On site, the agreed plan is followed and any change is put in writing first. At completion we do a final clean, go through the snagging list with you and leave you with the relevant documents.
What you can expect from us
Frequently asked questions
Can I move my sink or cooker to a new position?
Moving the sink, hob or cooker is usually possible but adds cost, because waste pipes, water supplies, gas and electrics have to be rerouted. Sinks need waste pipes to fall towards the drain, so the position of the outside wall matters. Hobs may need a new circuit or gas run and a suitable extractor route. We check what is practical during the survey and price each change separately.
Can you combine a new kitchen with other work?
Yes. Because we manage several trades under one contract, we can plan a new kitchen alongside other work on your Hampshire home, such as new windows with rendering, or a kitchen refit with an extension. Combining jobs can reduce repeat set-up such as scaffolding, skips and access, and every element is listed and priced in the same written quote.
Do I need a new extractor fan?
A kitchen needs effective extraction to remove steam, cooking smells and grease, and building regulations set minimum rates for new or altered kitchens. A ducted extractor that vents outside is the most effective, while recirculating hoods filter the air and return it to the room. We check whether a duct can reach an outside wall and recommend a hood that suits your hob and room size.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
You are usually without a working kitchen for one to two weeks, from strip-out until the sink and hob are reconnected. If stone worktops are being made to template, we can fit a temporary worktop so you can use the sink while you wait. Many people set up a microwave, kettle and fridge in another room. We plan the order of work to keep this period as short as possible.
